Planning permission has been granted for ACME Studios scheme at Copperfield Road, Mile End. The scheme designed by architects Landolt and Brown, with Sustainable MEP engineering by PHA Consult is for 14 artist’s studios, 5 live/work units and offices for 25 staff as a roof extension to ACME’s existing 1920’s warehouse building. The building will be constructed of bi-laminated timber – a carbon store. The design has been developed with input of computational daylight and dynamic thermal anlaysis to deliver well-lit, comfortable and energy efficient accommodation.
