Our illustration of the competition-winning sustainable design strategy for the Seattle Civic Centre has been included as the first illustration in ‘Fundamentals of Integrated Design for Sustainable Building’ by Marian Keeler and Bill Burke, published by John Wiley & Sons.
It is used to illustrate the concept of the ‘Integrated Building Design Process’ for which we are well known advocates.
Today construction began at Spaceport America, an innovative exemplar of environmental deisgn in New Mexico, USA.
PHA Consult, working in partnership with URS Corp are the sustainable MEP designers behind the Terminal Hangar Facility at Spaceport Armerica. Designed by Foster + Partners, THF will be the home of Virgin Galactic.

More than 700 industry professionals gathered at the London Hilton, Park Lane for the 12th annual Building Services Awards yesterday evening. PHA Consult’s outstanding achievements in delivering Sustainable MEP in over twenty countries was ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘International Achievement’ category. Whilst we were pipped at the post by winners Cundall, we were delighted to have been recognised ahead of established shortlisted firms Arup, BDP, Buro Happold, Halcrow Yolles and Red Engineering Design.
